Porto Colheita White 2012 - Niepoort

A white port from Niepoort, from the Douro region. It has a bright golden colour and a complex aromatic bouquet with candied fruit, honey and a light toastiness. On the palate it is robust yet balanced, with moderate sweetness offset by fresh acidity, showing apricot, vanilla and dried fruit, and a persistent finish recalling caramel and exotic spice. It matures in small oak casks, developing complexity while retaining freshness. It can be served as an aperitif or with lightly sweet desserts.
