Portofino Dry Gin (50cl, 43%)

Portofino Dry Gin is an Italian gin made in Liguria from Italian wheat spirit and 21 botanicals grown in the hills of the region. It is bottled at 43% vol in a 50cl bottle. The gin combines traditional distillation in a copper still with modern vacuum distillation, known as Rotovap, a method used to keep the finer aromas intact. The nose is fresh and bright, with lemon and juniper that bring to mind sea air. The palate is balanced, with juniper alongside rosemary, lavender, sage and marjoram, and sometimes a floral sweetness. The finish is refined and lingering, lightly spicy and herbal.
