Powers Gold Label Irish Whiskey (1L, 43.2%)

Powers Gold Label is an Irish whiskey blending pot still and grain whiskeys, triple-distilled at Midleton Distillery in County Cork and bottled at 43.2% ABV in a 1 litre bottle. It matured in ex-bourbon American oak casks for roughly five to seven years. The distillers discard more heads and tails during distillation than for any other whiskey in the Midleton range, a selective cut meant to concentrate spice and body. On the nose come cinnamon, clove oil, white pepper, russet apple and ripe pear over charred oak. The palate is sweet with vanilla and orchard fruit, then cinnamon, green pepper and nutmeg, with a fairly heavy body. The finish is medium, with spice, brown sugar and a dry, warming close.
