Powers John's Lane 12 Year Old is an Irish single pot still whiskey made at Midleton Distillery in Co. Cork. It takes its name from the original John's Lane Distillery in Dublin, and is bottled at 46% ABV, non-chill-filtered. The mash combines malted and unmalted barley, pot-stilled and triple-distilled, then matured for 12 years in ex-bourbon American oak with a touch of Oloroso sherry cask. The nose is earthy, with leather, charred wood, dark chocolate, treacle toffee and dried apricot. On the palate come vanilla, honeyed dried fruit, butterscotch and baking spices, with a silky texture. The finish is long, with toasted oak, honey, dried fruit and gentle spice.
