Preservation Distillery – Pot Distilled Kentucky Rye Whiskey (75cl, 59%)

Preservation Pot Distilled Kentucky Rye Whiskey is a cask strength rye from Preservation Distillery in Bardstown, Kentucky, and the distillery's first pot-distilled rye. It is made from rye, corn and malted barley grown in Kentucky, double distilled in copper pot stills and matured for seven to eight years in new American oak. It is bottled at 59% ABV, non-chill filtered, in micro-batches of one to three barrels. The nose offers caramel, spiced pear and roasted pecan, with toasted grain and warm baking spice. The palate is viscous, with butter-rum sweetness, leather, roasted nuts and subtle dark fruit. The finish is long and warm, with lingering oak spice and caramelised sugars.
