Pride of Anderson County 9 Year Old is a Kentucky straight bourbon in a 750ml bottle, drawn from a single barrel of Wild Turkey Distillery stock. It was created by Rare Character Whiskey Company in collaboration with David Jennings, known as Rare Bird 101.
The bourbon spent all nine years in new charred American oak and is bottled unfiltered at natural cask strength. It is the first release in the series to ship broadly, after earlier bottlings were allocated by lottery, and two releases are planned each year, each from a separately selected barrel.
The tasting notes describe caramel, vanilla and oak, with a subtle hint of baking spices.
