Prometheus is a 27 year old single malt from Speyside, made from barley malted over burning peat.
The nose brings winter fruits and mulled wine spice, with Madagascan vanilla, liquorice and preserved Maraschino cherries over lightly charred oak and a little oily peat. On the palate it is silky at first, then rich and savoury, with zesty orange peel adding to the spice. A splash of water brings out earthy, grassy and flinty notes.
The finish is very long and rich, with spicy orange and a hint of sherry in charred oak.
