Prometheus is a 28 year old Speyside single malt, matured in sherry casks and bottled at a cask strength of 53% ABV. It is a peated malt, and the smoke sits alongside the sherry influence.
Only 888 individually numbered bottles have been made.
The nose brings dried citrus, orange zest, red apple and pear, with clove, marzipan, aniseed, biscuit caramel and toffee. On the palate it is silky, with malt, raisins, walnuts, savoury oak, dark fruits and caramelised plums. The finish is long and dry, with smoke and orange spice.
