This is an orange liqueur from the Prunier house, made from cognac, natural orange extracts, sugar syrup and distilled water. It was created by Stéphane Burnez nearly thirty years ago and remains an exclusive blend of the house.
The orange extracts are blended with the cognac and aged in oak casks for at least six months, in an approach inspired by the Solera method. It is bottled at 40% and can be served neat, over ice or in cocktails.
In the glass it is bright gold, with orange to the fore on the nose alongside the warmth of the cognac. The palate opens zesty, spiced and almost peppery, then moves to orange peel close to bitterness. The finish is bittersweet and persistent.
