- White Pineau des Charentes
This is a white Pineau des Charentes from the Prunier house, made from Ugni Blanc and Montils. Fresh grape must is blended with AOC cognac before fermentation, and the fruit comes only from the Bons Bois appellation, where plots near the Gironde estuary have a favourable microclimate.
Each vintage is aged separately in foudre before blending. Served chilled, it suits seafood, light tapas and blue cheeses such as Fourme d'Ambert, and it also works in cocktails.
The colour is pale yellow with golden glints. The nose offers honey, apricot, mango and orange peel, with white flowers and almond. The palate is round and slightly jammy, balanced by lively, lemony acidity. The finish is long, with quince, fruit paste, mead and honey.
