Pure Kentucky 10 Year Old Bourbon (75cl, 53.5%)

Pure Kentucky 10 Year Old is a small-batch Kentucky straight bourbon aged for a decade by Willett Distillery in Bardstown. It is bottled at 53.5% in a 750ml bottle and bottled by hand. The blend draws on two mashbills: 85% a traditional corn-led recipe, and 15% a high-rye recipe with 38% rye. Both go into the barrel at 125 proof. The nose shows toffee, ripe stone fruit, eucalyptus and seasoned oak, with a buttery richness. The palate is big and oily, with caramel and toffee, then cinnamon bark, black pepper and oak tannins. The finish is long and warming, with cinnamon, toasted oak and a little dried fruit.
