Pursuit United Barrel Proof Triple Mash Rye is a blend of three straight rye whiskeys, bottled by Pursuit Spirits in Louisville, Kentucky, in a 700ml bottle. Pursuit was founded by Ryan Cecil and Kenny Coleman, the hosts of the Bourbon Pursuit podcast.
The mash bills are 95% rye and 5% malted barley from Bardstown Bourbon Company, the same recipe from Sagamore Spirit, and a third from Sagamore Spirit of 52% rye, 43% corn and 5% malted barley. It is bottled uncut and unfiltered at cask strength, so the proof varies from batch to batch.
The nose brings toasted marshmallow, dark sugar, citrus peel and baking spice. The palate has a crème brûlée crust and rye spice, and the finish is long and warming.
