Pursuit United Doubled Oaked Rye is a rye whiskey bottled at 54% ABV in a 700ml bottle, released in August 2024 as a limited edition. It starts from Pursuit's United Rye blend of two mash bills: Bardstown Bourbon Co. at 95% rye and 5% malted barley, and Sagamore Spirit at 52% rye, 43% corn and 5% malted barley.
The whiskey then has a second maturation on lightly toasted, heavily charred French oak staves, chosen from more than 40 oak experiments.
The nose offers fresh-baked cherry pie, cranberry, cardamom and nutmeg. The palate brings buttered brown sugar, tart cherries and berry jam, and the finish carries cherry pipe tobacco, charred oak and sweet habanero pepper.
