Virgin Croatian Slavonian oak finish
Quercus Robur is a double-distilled, small-batch Irish single malt from Crolly Distillery in County Donegal. It is bottled at 46% in a 70cl bottle and is non-chill-filtered. The whiskey is finished in virgin Slavonian oak from Croatia, made from Lužnjak casks. This oak is more porous and less sweet than Sessile or White oak, giving a drier, more tannic influence than ex-bourbon maturation. It won Gold at the 2022 Irish Whiskey Awards. The nose is led by redcurrant, with ginger, clove and nutmeg and a faint straw-like dryness. The palate is dark fruit and baking spice over structured dryness. The finish is dry, with wood smoke, dark chocolate and a bitter cocoa note.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
