Quinta do Noval Late Bottled Vintage Single Vineyard 2019 Port

This is a Late Bottled Vintage port from Quinta do Noval, made from the grapes of a single vineyard in the Vale de Mendiz, near Pinhão. It is unfiltered, a traditional style of LBV, and was aged for four years in wood before bottling. It is a soft, fruit-driven port, approachable without long waiting, though it benefits from decanting. The colour is deep purple with a thin crimson rim. The nose is intense, with blackcurrant, blueberry jam, pepper, mace and clove, and a faint hint of Cointreau. The palate is dense and enveloping with medium body, lively but moderate acidity and present, gentle tannin. The finish is persistent and clean, with blackcurrant and black pepper.
