Quinta do Noval Tawny Port

A tawny port from Quinta do Noval, made from grapes grown in the Douro valley, not only from the house's own vineyards. It carries no age statement. The wine ferments in steel with frequent pumping over, then ages for four years in large oak barrels. It keeps well for two or three months once opened and can be served fresh. Garnet with an orange rim. The nose offers toasted almonds, roasted notes, cocoa, nut cake and raspberry, with candied chinotto, mace and clove. Sweet and velvety on the palate, lighter in body than a vintage or ruby port, it finishes very long, with candied bitter orange peel and blond tobacco.
