R. Jelinek 10 Year Old Gold Kosher Slivovitz (70cl, 50%)

R. Jelinek 10 Year Old Gold is a kosher slivovitz, a plum brandy made by Rudolf Jelinek in Vizovice in the Czech Republic, a house established in 1894. It is produced under the supervision of an Orthodox Union representative. The brandy is triple-distilled from hand-harvested late plums and then aged for ten years in French Limousin oak, which gives it its gold colour. It is bottled at 50% vol in a 70cl bottle. The nose shows ripe plum over oak, vanilla and dried fruit, with an aroma close to cognac. The palate is gentle for its strength, with harmonious plum fruit and a distinct woody undertone, and the finish is long and warming.
