Raasay Cask Strength 2023 is a lightly peated single malt with dark fruit character, bottled at 61.3% in a 70cl bottle. It was matured using a six-cask recipe that includes rye whiskey casks, virgin Chinkapin oak and Bordeaux red wine casks, and it has a honey gold colour with hints of red wine. Of the 8,400 bottles produced, 950 were for the UK.
The nose is fresh apricots, ripe blackberries, dried figs with a floral hint of heather, cinnamon and toasted oak. Juicy plums, caramelised sugar and clove lead the palate, and the finish is long and warming with spiced apple, dark chocolate, peat and oak spice.
