Raasay – Inaugural Release (Limited Edition) (52%)

Raasay Inaugural Release is a limited edition single malt from the Raasay distillery, bottled at 52% in a decanter-style bottle of the distillery's own design. Its uneven surface is meant to recall the rocks and fossils of the island. The spirit was made from Scottish barley dried over Highland peat. A fermentation of 96 to 110 hours and water filtered through volcanic rock are said to give it a berry fruit character. It was filled into fresh Tennessee whiskey casks and finished in fresh Bordeaux red wine casks. The release is limited to 9,000 bottles.
