Rabbit Hole Founder's Collection Amburana 12 Year Old Straight Bourbon

Rabbit Hole Amburana is a 12 year old Kentucky straight bourbon from the Founder's Collection, a limited release. It was finished in new Amburana barrels made from Brazilian oak, a wood more often used to age cachaca. The barrels have a heavy toast and a number 4 char. Founder Kaveh Zamanian chose the wood to bring floral and aromatic notes that a standard bourbon barrel does not give. The colour is golden amber. The nose offers vanilla, toasted walnut, caramel and cherry, and the palate brings ginger snaps, stone fruit, cinnamon, mint, caramelised sugar and wine. The finish is leathery and earthy, with nutmeg, baking spice and tobacco leaf.
