Ramos Pinto 20 Year Old Tawny Port Quinta do Bom Retiro

This is a 20 year old tawny port from Ramos Pinto, blended from ports grown at Quinta do Bom Retiro, one of the oldest and most prestigious estates in the Douro. The vineyards cover about 50 hectares of narrow terraces, where Ramos Pinto has introduced practical, modern methods of cultivation. Long years in wooden casks have turned the dark red tones of youth into golden, tile-red shades. Blending a 20 year old tawny means judging each port from its grapes and parcels, so the recipe can never be the same from one year to the next. The palate shows grapefruit, apricot, hazelnut, almond, cocoa, vanilla, coffee and cinnamon, with delicacy, warmth and a silky finish.
