Ramos Pinto 20 Year Old Tawny Port (75cl)

This is a 20 year old tawny port from Ramos Pinto, the Douro house founded in 1880, in a 75cl bottle. It is made from a selection of plots in Quinta do Bom Retiro, one of the oldest vineyards in the Douro. The colour is tawny with a yellow halo, a sign of advanced maturity, with a warm red and a slight orange tone at the bottom of the glass. The nose combines grapefruit, apricot, almond, hazelnut and cocoa bean with vanilla, old port cask and roasted notes of cinnamon, caramel and coffee. The palate is smooth and dry, moving through ripe and dried fruits and nuts with a fresh, liquorice-like harmony and a rich, generous persistence.
