Ramos Pinto Special Tawny Reserve Port

This is a tawny reserve port from Ramos Pinto, blended by Ana Rosas, the house's Wine Master Blender. It is made mainly from wines from old vines at Quinta de Ervamoira, with wines from the highest vineyards at Quinta do Bom Retiro added. The wines were fermented in traditional granite lagares and then aged for more than eight years in large neutral wooden casks. The colour is a light ruby red with a slight brownish rim. The nose shows cherry, peach and plum with nuts and spicier notes of cinnamon and ginger. The same notes carry onto the palate, where a touch of citrus adds freshness. The finish is harmonious and notably long.
