This is a 40-year-old single malt from the closed Ladyburn distillery in Ayrshire, bottled by Signatory Vintage for its Rare Reserve within the Cask Strength Collection. It comes from a single bourbon barrel, cask 3421, and is in a 70cl bottle at 47.1% ABV. The whisky was distilled on 24 October 1975 and bottled on 2 December 2015, giving 166 numbered bottles. It is natural colour and non-chill-filtered. The nose is led by unripe mango, lemon and light papaya, with sweets, fruit jellies and marshmallow behind. The palate is fresh and fruity, with apple, grapefruit, mango and white pineapple, and the oak shows only as light, tea-like tannins. The finish is medium in length, with honeysuckle and a touch of elderberry.

About Glenbotal

The idea of Glenbotal came to us naturally: as whisky lovers, we were always on the lookout for new experiences in the whisky world. That’s why we created Glenbotal and became our very own first customers. We buy unique and hard to find spirits from ballots and private collections. Then, we share them with a small circle of friends and people who can appreciate a good dram.
