A single barrel, cask strength Straight Tennessee Whiskey from Rare Character, bottled at about 77.5% in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill filtered, and the whiskey is aged 13 years.
This bottle comes from barrel E-TN-98, distilled in November 2011 and matured for roughly thirteen and a half years in new charred American oak. The whiskey went through the Lincoln County Process, filtering through charcoal chips, before it went into the barrel.
The nose offers butterscotch, crème brûlée, brown sugar and cinnamon, with aged tobacco and candied cherry beneath. The palate brings caramel, leather, coriander, dark chocolate and black cherry. The finish is very long and warming, with a little smoke and molasses.
