Rare Character Limited Release 2025 Batch 01 is a Kentucky straight whiskey, classified by the brand as a straight rye. It is bottled at cask strength, 66.5% ABV, in a 750ml bottle, and comes from Rare Character Whiskey Co. of Lexington, Kentucky.
Batch 01 is one of the two 2025 limited releases and one of the highest-proof whiskeys the company has bottled. It leans dark, with chocolate, cherry and white pepper over dry oak.
The nose is chocolate caramel, brown sugar, sweet cherry, tart citrus and subtle green tea. The palate has Tootsie Roll richness, cherry-orange brightness and a velvety texture, and the long, warming finish carries dark fruit, dry oak and faint brown sugar.
