Rare Character Limited Release Kentucky Straight Whiskey 2025 Batch 02 (75cl, 61.7%)

Rare Character Limited Release Kentucky Straight Whiskey 2025 Batch 02 comes from Rare Character Whiskey Co. in Lexington, Kentucky, and the brand classifies it as a straight rye. It is bottled at cask strength, 61.7% ABV or 123.4 proof, uncut and unfiltered, in a 75cl bottle. The Limited Release line is where the team bottles its most distinctive barrels at full proof, a few thousand bottles at a time. This batch pairs dessert-caramel sweetness with a firm rye-spice backbone. Tasting notes give vanilla custard, dried berries, burnt orange peel, toasted oak and brown sugar on the nose. The palate is rich caramel, pie spices, creamy oak and bold rye heat, and the finish is long and warm with caramel, cinnamon bark, savoury oak and rye spice.
