This is a straight rye whiskey from Rare Character, released in 2025 as Batch No. 08 of its Limited Release series (RCLR). It comes in a 750ml bottle and is made from barrels the brand has selected and blended.
The nose is bright with rye spice, cracked black pepper, caramelised sugar, toasted oak and dried orange peel. The palate is bold and structured, with cinnamon, clove, brown sugar, dark caramel and a little mint, and a balanced sweetness alongside the spice. The finish is long and warming, with oak, peppery heat and a dry rye spice fade.
