Rare Hare "Lucky Bastard" is a 30 year old Canadian whiskey from Playboy Spirits, bottled at 44.5% ABV in a 70cl bottle. 2,500 bottles were produced.
It has been finished in Pineau des Charentes casks, the regional aperitif of western France.
The nose is delicate and sweet, with vanilla bean, golden raisin, honeycomb and bee pollen. The palate brings browned butter, serrano chile, young coconut, anise and walnut. The finish turns to banana peel, mellow Martinique rhum and plantain.
