Rare Perfection 9 Year Old is a single barrel bourbon from an undisclosed Kentucky distillery, privately selected by Bardstown's Finest. It is bottled at cask strength, 128.9 proof (64.45% ABV), uncut and non-chill filtered, after nine years in the barrel.
The nose is burnt sugar, baking spice and charred oak, with dried fig, leather and toasted vanilla. The palate is viscous and warming, with toffee, dark chocolate, black cherry and cracked pepper, building to oak and spice. The finish is long and dry, with caramel, tobacco and a gentle heat.
