A Kentucky straight bourbon from RD1, matured in new American oak barrels and then finished with French oak staves.
The staves go into the barrel after the bourbon has aged for more than four years. The French oak is seasoned in Northern California, then cut, milled and toasted to RD1's own specifications.
It is described as having a rich mouthfeel, with caramel, dark cherries and sweet oak. The finish brings dark chocolate, then oak with a faint hint of smoke.
