RD1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon Whiskey

RD1 Kentucky Straight Bourbon is distilled, aged and bottled entirely in Kentucky, and has spent at least four years in cask. It is made as a sour mash with Kentucky corn and limestone well water, from a mash bill of 70% corn, 21% rye and 9% malted barley. The bottle takes its design from the first federally registered distillery in Lexington, with a nod to the old Ashland Distillery label and horse farm fences etched around the base. The nose offers vanilla wafers and roasted almonds. Orange, honeyed caramel and herbal tea come through on the palate with peppery oak. The finish is long, warm and dry, with ginger and cinnamon spice.
