Red Spot 15 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey that has matured for more than 15 years. It sits at the top of the Red Spot range.
The maturation uses three kinds of cask: American bourbon casks, Spanish sherry butts and Sicilian Marsala wine casks.
The nose combines pot still spice with cooked fruit, baked apple, mango and black cherry, alongside hazelnut, a little new leather and toasted American oak. The palate brings ripe fruit sweetness, then sweet red pepper and cracked black pepper, ending on oak and barley. The finish is very long, with fruit and spice.
