Red Spot 15 Years Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey, triple distilled and bottled for Mitchell & Son at 46% in a 70cl bottle. It is matured in three types of cask, bourbon, sherry and Marsala, and is non-chill-filtered.
The colour is amber. The nose combines pot still spice with rich cooked fruit, baked apple, mango and black cherry, with hazelnut and a hint of new leather alongside toasted American oak. The palate has ripe fruit sweetness from the Marsala-seasoned wine casks, with sweet red pepper and ground black pepper, ending on American oak and barley. The finish is an extra-long infusion of fruit and spice.
