This is a 12-year-old single pot still Irish whiskey from Redbreast, made at the Midleton Distillery in County Cork. It is bottled at natural cask strength, typically around 57.6% ABV, without chill filtration, in a 750ml bottle.
It matures in a combination of American oak ex-bourbon casks and European oak ex-oloroso sherry casks. The strength varies from batch to batch.
The nose is dense with figs, dates and sultanas, alongside ripe banana, red apple and lime zest. The palate is silky, with vanilla, baked cherries, honey and building spice. The finish is long, with fruit, spice and oak.
