Redbreast 12 Year Old Cask Strength is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery, in a 750ml bottle. It is bottled undiluted at natural cask strength, so the exact strength varies from batch to batch.
The whiskey is made from malted and unmalted barley, triple-distilled in copper pot stills and matured for a minimum of 12 years in a combination of bourbon-seasoned American oak barrels and Oloroso sherry-seasoned Spanish oak butts.
The nose brings exotic fruit and citrus with dried apricot, sultana, spice and toasted wood. The palate is rich and mellow, with fruit, spice, vanilla and a touch of oak. The finish is long, moving from fruit and spice to toasted oak and barley.
