Redbreast 12 Years is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery, first produced in 1903. The mash uses both malted and unmalted barley, the spirit is triple distilled in copper stills, and it is matured in first-fill ex-sherry casks and ex-bourbon casks. It comes in a 70cl bottle.
The nose is led by blackcurrant and peach, then moves to burnt wood and sweet spice. The palate is rich and weighty, still fruit-led, with toffee and praline. The finish is very long, with an elegant spiciness.
