Redbreast 15 Year Old is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle.
It matures for fifteen years in a combination of bourbon barrels and Oloroso sherry casks, and is bottled without chill filtration, which keeps the spirit's natural oils and gives a rich, oily texture.
The nose is full, with ripe berries, apple blossom, honey and brown sugar. On the palate apricot and ripe pear sit with vanilla, baking spices, toasted wood and caramel. The finish is long, with toasted oak, dried fruit and a trace of honey.
