Redbreast 18 Year Old is a triple-distilled single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% in a 75cl bottle. It is made from malted and unmalted barley and matured for a minimum of 18 years.
The casks are a mix of ex-bourbon barrels, oloroso sherry-seasoned casks, ruby port casks and cream sherry casks from the Antonio Paez Lobato cooperage.
The nose is full of blackcurrant, raspberry, glazed cherry and dried fig, with hazelnut chocolate, cinnamon and polished oak beneath. The palate is full and rounded, with fresh ginger, liquorice, dried fruit and orange peel. The long finish carries spice and sherry sweetness, ending in clean oak and berry compote.
