Redbreast 27 Year is a triple-distilled single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 75cl bottle at 54.6% ABV. It is made from malted and unmalted barley.
The whiskey spends its 27 years in ex-bourbon barrels, oloroso sherry butts and ruby port pipes. The ruby port casks are what set it apart from the younger Redbreast expressions.
The nose is crème brûlée, vanilla bean and nougat, with anise, aged leather and black treacle beneath. The palate is mango, pineapple and blood orange, then red berries, buttercream and vanilla cookies. The finish is long, with stone fruit and warm baking spice.
