Redbreast Cask Strength is an Irish pot still whiskey, offered at the natural strength of Redbreast 12. It is made from a mash of malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled in copper pot stills.
Maturation is in a combination of Bourbon-seasoned American oak barrels and Oloroso sherry-seasoned Spanish oak butts, which gives the whiskey its sherried style.
The nose brings exotic fruit with a little citrus, dried apricot, sultana, spice and toasted wood. The palate is rich and rounded, with fruit, spice, vanilla and a touch of oak. The finish is long, moving from fruit and spice to toasted oak and then barley.
