Redbreast Missouri Oak Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 50.5% in a 750ml bottle. It is triple distilled from malted and unmalted barley.
What sets it apart is a ten-month finish in virgin Missouri oak barrels, with the oak coming from the Ozark Forest. This differs from the refill sherry and bourbon casks behind much of the core Redbreast range.
The nose brings toasted oak, creamy vanilla, red apple, honey and dark chocolate. On the palate there is toffee apple and caramel, then blackcurrant, black cherry and baking spices. The finish is long, with pecan pie nuttiness and sweet cinnamon.
