Redbreast Lustau Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey from the Iberian Series, created through a partnership between Midleton Distillery and Bodegas Lustau in Jerez.
It spends nine to twelve years in bourbon and traditional sherry casks, then a further year in first-fill Oloroso sherry butts from Lustau. It is bottled at 46% without chill filtration.
The nose offers prunes, dates, figs and sultanas with liquorice, marzipan and toasted oak. The palate is silky, with dried fruit compote, toasted almonds, nutmeg and honeyed oak. The finish is long and warming, with cream, clove, honey and baking spices.
