Redbreast Lustau Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey that came out of a collaboration between Bodegas Lustau and the Midleton Distillery, begun through an old friendship.
It spends 9 to 12 years in traditional bourbon and sherry casks, then a further year in hand-selected first-fill sherry butts seasoned with Oloroso from Lustau in Jerez, Spain. The Redbreast name goes back to 1903, when Jameson agreed to supply new make spirit from its Bow Street distillery to the wine and spirit importer Gilbeys.
The pot still spirit is described as silky, with assertive spice balanced by the richness of the sherry and the fresh Spanish oak.
