Redbreast Lustau Edition is an Irish pot still whiskey that came from a collaboration between Bodegas Lustau and the Midleton Distillery, born of an old friendship.
It is first matured for nine to twelve years in bourbon and sherry casks. It then spends a further year in hand-selected first-fill sherry butts seasoned with Oloroso sherry from Bodegas Lustau in Jerez, Spain.
The nose is rich with dark fruits, prunes, dates, figs, liquorice, marzipan and toasted oak. The palate is creamy, and the finish is very long.
