Redbreast Lustau Edition is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, bottled at 46% ABV in a 750ml bottle. It is non-chill-filtered and made in collaboration with Bodegas Lustau of Jerez.
After initial maturation in bourbon and sherry casks, it spends a further year in first-fill butts seasoned with oloroso sherry at Lustau, a finish longer than the few months usual for sherry finishes.
The tasting notes describe orange zest, toffee and stone fruit on the nose, a creamy palate of hazelnut, fig and vanilla pudding, and a long, warm finish with baked apple, caramel and a little pepper.
