Redbreast Moscatel Finish is a single pot still Irish whiskey from Midleton Distillery in County Cork, in a 750ml bottle. It forms part of the Redbreast Iberian Series.
The whiskey matures first in ex-bourbon and Oloroso sherry casks, then spends 16 months in European oak hogsheads that were seasoned for two years with Moscatel wine from Málaga. It is bottled at 46% and is non-chill filtered.
The nose is citrus-led, with orange peel and lime zest, then floral honey and soft vanilla. The palate is honeyed, with sugared citrus, dried fig and candied apricot, plus a peppery lift and nutmeg. The finish is medium-long and warm, with vanilla, baking spice and orchard fruit.
