Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask Edition

Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask Edition is a Single Pot Still Irish whiskey finished in Moscatel wine casks. It is the fifth release in Redbreast's Iberian Series, which draws on Gilbey's history of importing fortified wines since the late 1800s. The casks come from the hills of Málaga in Spain, sourced with Bodegas Quitapenas, a family-owned bodega since 1880. The Moscatel wine was aged in American oak for 24 months before the casks were emptied and moved to Midleton Distillery, where the whiskey has been maturing in them since 2024. Casks of this kind are known for floral aromas with pineapple, peach and honey.
