Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask Limited Edition (75cl)

Redbreast Moscatel Wine Cask is a limited edition Irish single pot still whiskey from Midleton, distilled from malted and unmalted barley and triple distilled. It belongs to the Redbreast Iberian Series, a project by Master Blender David McCabe to source distinctive casks from Spanish bodegas and Portuguese quintas. The whiskey matured first in bourbon and sherry casks, then was finished in Moscatel wine casks from Bodegas Quitapenas in Málaga, Spain. Moscatel is a sweet fortified wine made from Muscat grapes, known for floral, honeyed and stone fruit character. The nose is fresh and floral, with zesty fruit, nutmeg and vanilla oak. On the palate come bright fruit, toffee, honeycomb and a little dried herb, followed by a long finish of pot still spice and wine-seasoned oak.
