Redemption Barrel Proof 9 Years Old is a straight bourbon bottled at cask strength without chill filtering. This is Batch 4 of the nine-year series.
The whiskey was matured in new, charred American oak. The mash bill is 75% corn, 21% rye and 4% malted barley.
The nose opens with warm caramel and crème brûlée over toasted oak and vanilla, with a touch of leather. On the palate, caramel, molasses and dark toffee lead, with cinnamon, clove and gentle rye pepper beneath. The finish is long, warm and drying, fading to caramel and a little toasted nut.
